Hershey Middle School 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Trombone
Welcome to the Hershey Middle School 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Trombone page! These items are recommend by your teacher.
Mouthpiece: Most beginner and intermediate instruments are stocked with Bach 11C mouthpieces. The mouthpiece suggestion for intermediate musicians is a Bach 6 1/2AL, while the mouthpiece suggestion for advanced musicians is a Bach 5G.
Tuning Slide Grease: Being able to move your tuning slides is very important!!
Spray Bottle: Absolute non-negotiable. A trombone player's MVA - most valuable accessory.
Slide-O-Mix : Your slide has to move freely without getting stuck on a dry or poorly maintained slide. This is the most effective two pack stuff on the market (Read the instructions - each bottle is used differently).
Cleaning Rod: To clean the inside of your trombone. Put a small swab or cheese cloth on the end and then put through your trombone.
Brass Mouthpiece Brush: The mouthpiece is very susceptible of build-up from everything that might be in your mouth. Gross. Clean it out regularly. You can do this effectively with a mouthpiece brush.
Berp Buzzing Tool : Used as a tool in high school to practice buzzing. Extremely beneficial to playing and highly recommended!
Straight Mute: Music occasionally calls for the use of a straight mute. HHS has a limited school-owned stock of mutes, but sometimes students prefer to have their own mute. If you purchase one, be sure to place your name somewhere on it!
Trombone Stand: Stands are GREAT for practicing at home, allowing you to set your trombone safely on a stand in-between practice sessions. It fits inside the bell in case you want to take it along to school with you.
