Description:
Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829) was one of the leading guitar virtuosos of the 19th century. After moving from Italy to Austria, his close ties with Rossini and Beethoven made him an insider in Viennese musical society. This Giuliani piece has been skillfully adapted for clarinet quartet. It bears similarities to a minuet but differs in not including a trio in contrasting key. The tuneful source material is a great programming choice. Instrumentation includes 3 Bb clarinets and Bb bass clarinet.
