Nova Stella: New Star Fanfare is based on the chorus of the traditional English carol Nova! Nova! Ave Fit Ex Eva. The fanfare begins with three or more antiphonal brass players placed throughout the concert hall. Large percussion forces, which include optional parts, are used to help introduce the rest of the ensemble as they join in the musical celebration. Then the combined efforts of all the performers coalesce into an overwhelming expression of unbridled joy.
